STRUCTURED WIRING - CABLING
Structured wiring is the cardiovascular system of your home. Information travels along different types of wire, carrying anything from the high definition video signal of your favorite movie to the sound of your voice along a phone wire. Typically, structured wiring includes the connections between your security panel and your doors and windows, your televisions and your A/V distribution, and your phones to their respective distribution point. Other audio and video distribution may also be included in the home but each is covered in their own respective sections on this website.

Who you hire to run the structured wiring in your home will have a quite noticeable effect on the look and serviceability of the structured wiring in your home. Digitech Custom tags each cable and keeps extensive documentation of your system, so if a problem does occur, your technician will be able to locate the problem quickly and efficiently. Your wire will be fed cleanly into a distribution panel and finished with expert precision. Our technicians take pride in the neatness of their work, and it will show.

Structured wiring is probably the least visible but most important part of what we at Digitech Custom do. As the technological capabilities in our homes continue to progress, the wiring—especially in older homes—will often be the weakest link. Communication and entertainment technologies usually require wire connections to be able to feed information back and forth, and though wire is among the least costly components in your system, adding structured wiring will be significantly more expensive after the drywall has been put up. Holes will need to be cut and patched, wire will be more difficult to run from point to point, and time will be added to the job. Because of this, we will suggest wiring for potential future upgrades, as it will save much time and money in the long run.
